Gallery Two
John Alty
"River of Time"
Created in 2006, River of Time is a remarkable series of sixteen recycled doors transformed into a sweeping artistic journey along the Murray River.
Inspired by artist John Alty’s years living aboard a raft while travelling the Murray, the work captures the river’s landscapes, wildlife and changing seasons through colour, texture and reclaimed materials.
Originally envisioned as a backdrop for dance and performance, this immersive artwork celebrates the beauty, movement and life of Australia’s largest river.
