volunteers. It was funded primarily through the NSW Regional Tourism Activation Fund and an Australian Government Growing Regions grant, alongside invaluable contributions from our supporters and donors.
The gallery is the first step in an ambitious plan to enrich the tourism offering of Echuca Moama and the wider region, while developing a cultural resource for everyone.
The Bridge Art Project’s guiding idea—“across rivers, across cultures, across history”—shapes this broader purpose: encouraging different perspectives, sharing stories and creating opportunities to learn through art.
Our thanks to the many supporters and donors who have helped bring the gallery into being.
Moama Art Gallery – Bunyma grew from the Bridge Art Project’s vision to connect contemporary art, culture and history with the natural environment. Located on Yorta Yorta Country in Moama, the gallery brings that vision to life.
In 2019, with assistance from partners and a Building Better Regions grant, the Bridge Art Project commissioned a masterplan for an arts precinct encompassing 17 hectares of riverine forest adjoining the gallery site, connected to the gallery by an elevated walkway.

Looking Ahead
Moama Art Gallery – Bunyma is a growing cultural destination where art, nature and community come together.
Our 140-metre elevated walkway connects the gallery with Dipa—the 17 hectares of river red gum forest behind the gallery.
The walkway invites visitors to connect with nature as they cross the wetland to the west of the gallery. From there, a walk of approximately 700–800 metres leads to the Murray River foreshore.
The Bridge Art Project will develop this special place over time. Longer-term plans include sculpture, art installations and nature-based learning, creating opportunities to explore the connections between the land, the rivers and the people.
As the precinct grows, we look forward to sharing each new chapter with our community.
